The 1st game of the season has now been logged and consigned to history. Though the bitter taste of defeat after an excellent batting display will linger with me for sometime yet.

We welcomed a new recruit in the guise of one Phil Baston who’s long defensive stride will serve him well on the Rock wicket.
We also welcomed back into our midst Kevin Wilson, after a number of years in exile at Shilbottle. Also returning was Paul Kelly after spending last summer buried in books on how to count!
Special mentions go to Kev for a stellar 58 along with an economical spell with the ball and I suppose myself for turning the ball square (joking) taking 4 wickets.

Yours truly woke this morning following the 1st nets yesterday feeling like I’d gone 10 rounds with Mike Tyson. I suppose getting used to the rigor mortis now will aid recovery every Sunday until September!
A friendly is attempting to be arranged for Sunday coming (19th), if we can’t nail down some some opposition we will play a game amongst ourselves (six-a-side or the like) to get the blood pumping again. 2pm start. Will post once details confirmed.
